A little about me, a shower AND a FIREY type of weekend!

Don't you just love when you put a little time aside for yourself and do it up right. Friday I was able to add a few highlights to my shimmering "brown" hair - age has changed the youthful blonde locks to a "roadkill" color and I decided that I will have no of that! Saturday I FINALLY used my Bella Sante gift certificate from the MN-Bieringers and had a facial (Thanks Gina!) so now at least I look younger...

Sunday we celebrated Kathleen and Darren's upcoming nuptials with a shower - so nice.....

BUT no weekend is complete without a little fire to keep things lively- literally - I was making dinner and my oven made a few weird noises and wah lah! a fire erupts...no worries, calm as a cucumber I shut off the oven and say to my brother "well, I've wanted a gas stove since I moved into this place - I guess there's no time like the present." Samantha, on the other hand, asked if we could bake a cake.

Relaxing Weekend

Restful weekend: I found Samantha on Saturday morning surrounding herself with her "subjects". She was playing Queen and was telling all her little stuffed friends to "curtsy" and "bow" to her Majesty....... Seriously......

Sunday afternoon Nana and Uncle Scott stopped by to try out the new bike.... It was fun, except when you would crash into the back of the bike when she would slam on the brakes...

We decided to give Kitt a ride in the jeep instead.... Samantha has the hang of steering so we are no longer getting our toes run over or trying to save the cars driving on the street from Samantha.

At one point Uncle Scott was in charge of Kitt....

Happy Birthday Sean!

Happy Birthday Sean!!! Samantha had a great time at your party. It was also fun to be able to play soccer and baseball with you in the beautiful weather.

Off to Newport!

We decided to see what all the hub-bub was in Newport, RI for St. Patrick's Day so we loaded up the cars and headed down for the night. We stayed at The Mill Street Inn (http://www.millstreetinn.com/) which was right near Thames Street and all the chaos. Overall, we thought the atmosphere was on the same scale, but just not as high up on the scale as Southie. The weather was great and the company was too fun!!!

Sleep Over

Saturday night was operation Girlfriend Sleep Over! Allison came for a night of Dance Mania and Movies 101 (101Dalmatians that is...) - the night was not complete without their American Girl Dolls - Kitt, Ruthie, Kitt and Samantha and their puppies!

Sunday the weather again was too nice to ignore, so the girls and I went on a penny walk - thankfully I remembered the wagon! A few blocks into the walk the girls no longer wanted to pull the dolls - they wanted to be pulled - 5 miles later, after a stop at a park we ended the sleep over extravaganza with a slush at Cravings in Wakefield Center complete with a twirl at the soda bar!!

I heard snow was on the way for MONDAY - impossible??? probably not - this is New England after all!

Weather is Good! Life is Good!

Weather is fabulous! High 50s and it feels like 70s....guess I'm ready for spring! Saturday Samantha, Megize and I headed to Breakheart Reservation for a little hiking. They have a great trail that is asphalt (so much for nature) which was nice for walking (no mud) - we had some mushy and watery areas, but otherwise a fun outing. Little did I know there is a beach mid-point....the ice was melting - a sure sign spring is coming!!!! We took a little break at the play area.

Bonus Day!

Well after another exciting snowboarding weekend in Vermont with Katy, Ro and Michele; Mother Nature has decided to dump another foot of snow in my yard!!! What a nice treat to spend a day with Samantha after being away from her all weekend. I think we might have a snowball fight with Uncle Scott. He will at least let her clobber him and I can hide behind Samantha... I will post some pictures later from the weekend. Happy Monday

I bought Samantha's Halloween costume yesterday - you would probably guess it would be her normal princess "something" but nope we've moved it up a notch this year...Cleopatra.....I told her she was QUEEN of Egypt and she said "well that's more than being a princess!" oh my........

I was lost trying to find a street name. Directions read drive .08 miles. I'm on the phone trying to get help from Ro and Sam goes "just drive the .08 miles mom and see what's there."
